The Startup World Cup Seattle 2025 brought together some of the most promising innovators in the Pacific Northwest, and REearthable® was honored to be among just 10 startups selected to pitch in this prestigious event. Hosted by Pegasus Tech Ventures, the Startup World Cup is the world’s largest startup pitch competition, attracting entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders from around the globe.
The Seattle Regional Finals showcased a diverse lineup of companies spanning clean technology, artificial intelligence, and consumer innovation — all competing for a spot in the $1 million Grand Finale in Silicon Valley.
Our Pitch: ecoPLAS®
On stage at Startup World Cup Seattle 2025, we presented ecoPLAS®, REearthable’s CO₂-captured, biodegradable plastic alternative. ecoPLAS® is engineered to match the performance of traditional plastics while delivering significant sustainability benefits:
38% lower CO₂ emissions compared to polypropylene
24% less energy usage in production
Requires less material for equivalent strength and performance
Our mission is bold yet simple: replace conventional plastics worldwide, without compromise. By offering a drop-in solution that works with existing manufacturing equipment, ecoPLAS® enables brands to meet sustainability goals without sacrificing quality or cost efficiency.
The Impact of Startup World Cup Seattle 2025
While the Regional finalist went to another outstanding startup, the event was a win for REearthable® in many ways. We:
Shared our vision for ecoPLAS® with an audience of investors, media, and fellow entrepreneurs
Forged strategic connections that could accelerate our path to market expansion
Demonstrated that sustainability innovation can compete with the most advanced AI, robotics, and deep-tech solutions on a global stage
Events like Startup World Cup Seattle 2025 remind us that sustainability is no longer a side conversation — it’s a central part of innovation and business strategy.
Why ecoPLAS® Matters Now
The global plastic waste crisis is intensifying, with more than 350 million tons of plastic produced annually and the majority ending up in landfills or the environment. Many so-called “green” solutions still rely on fossil fuels and degrade into microplastics.
ecoPLAS® is different. It is designed to biodegrade naturally under a range of conditions while maintaining performance during use. This means brands can transition away from petroleum-based plastics without disrupting operations or compromising product quality.
We believe ecoPLAS® has the potential to become the go-to sustainable material for industries ranging from beauty and personal care to food packaging, consumer goods, and beyond.
If you’re interested in collaborating with REearthable®, exploring ecoPLAS® for your products, or learning more about how we’re tackling the global plastic problem, we’d love to connect.
